Honor the Past & Pave the Future by taking part in our Commemorative Brick Sidewalk Project. For only $75. you can purchase a personalized engraved brick for the brick paved sidewalk in front of the Children's Museum. Each brick can have a maximum of 3 lines, with a total of 14 characters. Buy a brick & see your family or company name permanently in Children’s Museum history or buy a brick "in honor" or "in memory" of someone. February 2007 News: Winter Break week (Feb. 19th to 24th) will feature lots of neat cool programs, activities & some really exciting new exhibits! Check the featured programs here.

March 2007 News: A special NASA/Astronomy Program will be presented Saturday, March 10th, sponsored by The Mohawk Valley Astronomy Society. Our Annual Science & Technology Fair will be held Saturday, March 24th, sponsored by Homogeneous Metals. View last year's winners and student fair entry forms.

January 2007 News: During January, we will only be open 3 days a week - Monday, Thursday, and Saturday. We're closed the other days for renovations & staff vacations. Check our online calendar.

Saturday night, Dec. 2nd, The Children’s Museum 43rd Anniversary Holiday Gala (black tie optional) took place from 6:30pm-10:30pm. The evening included delicious catered food & full bar by Blue Flag, live music by Cleff Dwellers, fun holiday auction, mingling with Honorary Chair Sherry Boehlert & Marianne, Honorary Co-Chairs NYS Senator-elect Joe Griffo & Lorraine, Congressman-elect Mike Arcuri & Sabrina, our board, our sponsors, other elected officials, community leaders. Donation was only $85 per person / $150 per couple (pre-paid) or $95 per person at the door. Tickets available on Children’s Museum’s secure shopping cart.

Saturday, December 23rd, "The Children’s Museum Holiday Karaoke / Train Conductor / Radio DJ / Space Science Family Fun Day". From 10:00am to 4:00pm, special activities in these four areas, included our Elves with arts & crafts, washable tatooes & balloon making, in decorated building, goody bags to take home!

Saturday, December 30th, from 10:00am to 4:00pm, we hosted our fun "Family New Year’s Celebration: Welcoming 2007 at the Children’s Museum". Includes: gaily decorated building, party hats & noisemakers, disco karaoke music, snacks, arts & crafts, various holiday activities, goody bags to take home!

November 2006 News: Saturday, Nov. 25th from 10:00am to 4:00pm, found kids & families from 1 to 101 at The Children’s Museum’s Annual Holiday on Main Street, featuring Kindermusik for Munchkins, Twinkle the Elf balloon making, Karate U.S.A., New Horizons Barbershop Chorus, Lite 98.7 live in our Radio Room, the sounds of Tim Perry, arts & crafts on the various holidays & events celebrated in our community. A fun holiday event! (children under 1 free, reduced admission for members)

October 2006 News: From 10:00am to 2:00pm on Saturday, October 28th, kids of all ages enjoyed our Halloween Boo Bash a safe fun time with: Treat Stations; Smiley the Clown balloon making * Halloween Arts & Crafts; Costume Contest; cool spooky Haunted Hall; plane rides; watching Hank the Snake get fed! Admission included all the activities and events, as well as interacting with the 100's of exhibits on our 4 floors! (members and children under 1 free)

September 2006 News: During this month, we geared up for Fall and do renovations. Hamilton College HAVOC group came into the museum to help with projects. Check our online Calendar for openings and closings during this month of vacations and renovations.

August 2006 News: Our 4th annual International Halls of Fame Inductions took place Friday, Aug. 4th at the museum. Our 10th Annual Vino, Ale & Art Luau took place Fri. night, Aug. 25th.

July 2006 News: Our Annual Folk Art Festival was held July 14th & 15th, featuring five different local cultures, all who contribute to our community. Visitors interacted with dancers & took part in their crafts!

June 2006 News: On Friday, June 23rd, from 11:00am to 7:00pm, TW Conroy held a Charity Antiques Appraisal Fair at the Children's Museum. Tim Conroy and Bob Knapp donated their services, with all proceeds going to the Children's Museum of Utica. Verbal appraisals were provided at a modest donation of $5.00 per item or 3 items for $10.00. Our Annual Charity Golf Tournament was held Monday, June 12th - teams had a fun day that benefitted the museum.

May 2006 News: Three new interactive "hands-on" exhibits arrived at the Children's Museum! They include a "Dino Dig" on the second floor; a Micro Room on the first floors; and a Trading Post on the second floor!

April 2006 News: Saturday, April 15, 2006, kids enjoyed our Annual Easter Egg Hunt which followed this schedule: 10:30-10:45am for children ages 1 to 3; 10:50-11:05am for ages 4 to 6; 11:10–11:25am for ages 7 to 10. Included in the $7. per person admission (reduced member admission was $5. per person - children under 1 were free), children received an Easter Goody Bag, posed for pictures on the 1st floor with the Easter Bunny, conducted the hunt for eggs and goodies on the 2nd floor, took an airplane ride on our 4th floor, made Easter Arts & Crafts on our 3rd floor.

The week of April 17 - 21st, 2006, the Children's Museum Spring Break week once again featured several neat programs. Kids of all ages interacted w/our 1,000’s of exhibits on our four floors, took part in kids yoga, water sports fun, bicycle safety, built bird houses & racing cars, helped build a butterfly tree! On Saturday, April 22nd, from 11:00am to 4:00pm, TW Conroy held a Charity Antiques Appraisal Fair at the Children's Museum. Utica.tv filmed the event live. Tim Conroy and Bob Knapp donated their services. All proceeds were provided to the Children's Museum of Utica.

March 2006 News: 20 Projects involving 30 students from 11 different schools were entered in Our Annual Science & Technology Fair held Saturday, March 25th, sponsored by Homogeneous Metals, and featuring Congressman Sherry Boehlert and Astronaut Lee Morin. January 2006 News: During January, we were only open three days a week so we could work on renovations. Utica TV and the Children`s Museum, in partnership with the Harlem Globetrotters looked for children in our area who exemplified the spirit of an Ambassador of Good Will. Eligible were children, 12 yrs old or younger, who made a positive impact in their school or community. Five were chosen, receiving a family four pack of tickets to the Harlem Globetrotters game at the Utica Memorial Aud Wed. Feb. 8th. Forms downloaded here. All nominations had to be at the Children`s Museum before the museum closed on Friday, Feb 3rd.

Saturday night, Dec. 3rd, The Children’s Museum Great Friends to Kids Award and our 42nd Anniversary Holiday Gala (black tie optional) took place from 6:30pm-10:30pm. The evening included delicious food catered by the Mohawk Valley’s finest, full bar, live music, fun auction, mingling with our board, elected officials, and community leaders. Donation was only $75 per person / $140 per couple (pre-paid) or $95 per person at the door. Tickets were available from board members, in the museum, or on the Children’s Museum’s secure shopping cart. MARK YOUR CALENDARS: Our 43rd Anniversary Holiday Gala will be held Saturday night, Dec. 2nd, 2006!

Thursday, December 15, 2005 - At 1:30pm on Thursday Dec. 15th, the official unveiling of the Iroquois Exhibit took place on the second floor of The Children’s Museum. The improvements to our oldest exhibit include artifacts, interactive kiosks, longhouse display, historical and educational displays, made possible by financial support from the Oneida Indian Nation and the Oneida Nation Foundation. Saturday, December 17, 2005 - From 10:00am to 4:00pm, The Children’s Museum’s Holiday Dinosaur/ Space Science event featured special holiday, dinosaur, and space science programs and holiday arts & crafts for kids from 1 to 101, plus cookies & cocoa in our kitchen/birthday room, and candy canes upon departure! Allan Lang, owner of Lang’s Fossils, was at the museum to donate a piece of a lunar meteorite for inclusion in our NASA exhibit. It came with documentation, as lunar meteorites are rare and of great value. Santa was at the museum to listen to boys & girls wishes, and Twinkle the Elf was at the museum for face painting and balloon making!

November 2005 News: Saturday, Nov. 26th from 10:00am to 4:00pm, The Children’s Museum’s Holiday on Main Street featured programs and music on the various holidays & events celebrated in our community, face painting, balloon making, holiday arts & crafts, all for kids from 1 to 101. The reduced admission included not only all the above activities and events, but also viewing of and interacting with the 100's of exhibits on our four floors! October 2005 News: Saturday, October 29th: From 10:00am to 2:00pm, kids poured through the door to enjoy the Children's Museum Halloween Boo Bash where they had a safe fun time with: Treat Stations; Costume Contest; Halloween Arts & Crafts; our Haunted Hall, took plane rides, watched Hank the Snake get fed! The admission includedall the above activities and events, as well as interacting with the 100's of exhibits on our four floors! September 2005 News: We renovated and added new exhibits this month, including a fabulous Oneida Indian Nation interactive kiosk in our Longhouse! * Thirty Hamilton College students spent a Saturday doing "Make A Difference Day" Projects at the Children's Museum with Rotary eClub NY1 members.

August 2005 News: Friday, Aug. 5th, we held our 3rd annual International Halls of Fame Inductions. Friday night, Aug. 26th, we held our 8th Annual Vino, Ale & Art under the stars in Baggs Square.

July 2005 News: Summer Programs announced.

June 2005 News: June 10th & 11th, our newest NASA Exhibits arrived at the Children's Museum, one to be outside for a month, the other to be housed on our 4th floor! Our Annual Golf Tournament was held June 6th.

May 2005 News: Saturday night, May 14, 2005, everyone enjoyed our Hawaiian Luau.

April 2005 News: Saturday, April 22, 2005, our very special Folklore Festival, sponsored by the NYS Council on the Arts featured young dancers, bands, singers, and adult artists from the following cultural groups: Native Americans, Polish Americans; and Bosnians. It was an enjoyable family event! During the week of April 18-April 22, 2005, we had a great lineup of Spring Break programs offered at the Children's Museum.

Friday, April 8, 2005, from 4:00pm to 8:00pm, we held an exciting first of its kind "live" mini-telethon in the Children's Museum, and concurrently at the WUTR/WFXV/WPNY (WUTR 20, Fox 33, UPN) studios, sponsored by Board Member Steve Genett, Utica.tv & Garro Pharmacy. Saturday, April 16, 2005, Board Member Bruce Davis, Chair of Children's Museum Car Raffle, invited folks to take a chance on a $25. ticket, where one lucky winner had their choice of 1 of 4 vehicles. Tickets were available on our website's secure shopping cart, in the museum, and from board members. Proceeds benefited our Surround Sound Theatre & Mission Control Center. Smiley the Clown entertained live at the Children's Museum as we gave folks the last opportunity to purchase a car raffle ticket. The drawing took place at 1:00pm in the Museum during Grand Opening of our very own "live" WCML Radio Station in our new radio museum, sponsored by Regent Broadcasting (Lite 98.7, WIBX 950, Big Frog 104, Oldiez 96).

Saturday, April 2, 2005, we held our Annual Science & Technology Fair. Kids entered tech and science exhibits; interacted with NASA Glenn & Rocketdyne Power & MV Astronomy Society interactive exhibits, met Congressman Boehlert, an Astronaut, and got autographed pictures! More info here.
