2005 HOLIDAY ON MAIN STREET: Reduced Admission Fee of $6. each (with children under 1 year of age free & members paid only $4.) included all the acts, events, and exhibits below. Free events were held out on Main Street from 4:30pm to 5:30pm Museum Events: The Children's Museum was open from 10:00am to 4:30pm with several special programs and holiday entertainment. Santa & Mrs. Claus arrived by a fire truck from the North Pole at 11:30am and stayed until 4:30pm to listen to the children's holiday wishes - cameras were clicking! Cookies and cocoa, provided by Walmart, was available in our first floor kitchen/birthday room all day. Download flyer. Download schedule. Pictures coming! Featured on our 2nd floor stage area was Kindermusik by Piano Lab interactive holiday song & dance; the Fire Eye Band; the Holiday Music of G & G Productions; The Players of Utica Musical selections from Scrooge, and the New Horizons Chorus. Santa & Mrs. Claus were also on our 2nd floor from 11:30am on. Featured on our 3rd floor: Smiley the Clown face painting and balloon making; Holiday Creations in our Arts & Crafts area (Christmas, Hanukkah, Kwanzaa). Exhibitor tables included: Andrew Buffington's caricature drawings; Chellah's African art & sharing of African animals. Featured on our 4th floor: Visitors were able to meet author Mike Zarnock at his new book signing "Hot Wheels Accessories, The Ultimate Guide". Main Street Free Events: Following the museum closing, candy canes were handed out at the free Holiday Sing-A-Long on the City bandstand out on Main Street in front of the museum, followed by the free grand lighting ceremony of the Main Street Baggs Square Festival of Lights, with an exciting free Fireworks display immediately after, sponsored by Mayor Tim Julian and the City of Utica. The "Oohs & Ahhs" filled the air. Holiday on Main Street Volunteers: The museum is grateful to be able to count on the many volunteers who help make community events a reality on Main Street. Begun 20 years ago by Frank Gruenewald, and supported by Buck Buckley, organizations who participate in this annual event are: Rig-All, I.B.E.W. #43, GE Elfun's, NBT Bank, Clifford Fuel, Regent Broadcasting, Utica.tv, OC Convention & Visitors Bureau, Utica Mayor Timothy J. Julian, and the City of Utica.
